Extras that create staff jobs
Link an extra to a task template and every order raises the job automatically — aimed at the right room, timed to the stay, and never charged twice.
Some extras aren't things, they're work: a mid-stay clean, a firewood delivery, a barbecue setup. Link an extra to a task template once, and from then on every order of that extra raises the job automatically — aimed at the booking's room, timed to the stay, and sitting on the schedule without anyone relaying a message.
Setting up the link
The link lives on the task template, under Operations → Task Definitions: open the template that describes the work and choose which extra it fulfils. Each extra can have one active template fulfilling it, and the option is offered on templates your team runs on demand — not the kind Accommador generates on a schedule, which are driven by dates rather than orders. See task definitions.
What happens when the extra is ordered
Every ordered line raises one job, whether the order came from your team, from online check-in or from the AI guest assistant. The job is targeted at the booking's room, and it's scheduled sensibly: ordered before arrival, it goes on the arrival day's worklist so it's ready before the guest walks in; ordered by a guest who's already checked in, it goes on today's.
The job lands unassigned, ready for staff to claim from their own portal, and any note captured with the order is copied onto it — so "guest wants the 5-seater, collecting at 7am" reaches the person doing the work. See the staff portal.
Back on the booking, each ordered line shows its job and the job's current status, so anyone looking at the booking can see whether the work is done.
The job follows the booking
If the stay moves, the job moves with it: a date change re-times the job, and a room change re-targets it. Remove the ordered line before the work starts and the pending job is cancelled too. A job that's already underway or finished is left alone — the work happened, and its record stays.
No double-charging
The guest already paid for the service when they ordered the extra — that sale is the charge. The job it raises records the effort, never the money: it will not bill the guest for the same item again. If the template would normally charge for that item as part of its billing, that charge is dropped automatically on jobs raised this way, while any genuinely separate lines — labour, a consumable that really is extra — are kept. See billing task work.
Troubleshooting
A guest ordered after checking out — where's the job?
A line added to a checked-out stay is a charge only. The stay is over, so there's no service left to deliver and no job is raised.
I linked a template after the extra had already been sold
Existing orders don't all get jobs at once. Each booking catches up the next time anything about it changes — and new orders raise their jobs immediately.
Why can't I pick an extra on a template?
Another active template already fulfils that extra — each extra has one — or the template is the scheduled, auto-generated kind rather than one run on demand.
