Your booking window: how far ahead guests can book

The booking window decides which dates are for sale. Dates beyond it aren't offered anywhere — set it deliberately, and extend it as your seasons open.

Your booking window is the range of dates you're open for bookings. Inside it, availability is real and sellable; beyond it, dates simply aren't offered — not on your own booking page, and not on the booking sites you sell through. One setting, honoured everywhere at once.

Two ways to set it

  • Fixed dates — open from one date to another. Suits seasonal operators who release a season at a time, and anyone who wants a hard edge on how far ahead they're committed.
  • Rolling — always the next so-many days, for example the next 365. The window moves forward by itself each day, so there's never an end date to remember.

Why it matters

Without a window, your booking page treats every date as open for sale — you can be booked for dates you never agreed to, years out. With one, dates outside it stop being sellable everywhere in one stroke. That's why setting it is one of the five required steps on the setup board, alongside your room types and rooms — the three together are what let Accommador quote availability at all (see stage 2 of setup).

Where to set it

Go to Distribution → Channel Manager → Inventory. The booking window card at the top shows the current window at a glance, and Edit opens the form to change the mode or the dates.

Extending it as seasons open

With fixed dates, extend before the end date arrives. Once a fixed window's end date has passed, nothing is left for sale — and the setup board won't warn you, because the dates were set; it doesn't notice they're now behind you. Put “open next season's dates” in your diary a comfortable margin ahead, or switch to a rolling window and never think about it again.

Troubleshooting

Guests say they can't book dates I want to sell

Check the window covers those dates — a date beyond its edge isn't offered anywhere, no matter how empty the calendar is. Extend the window and the dates go on sale.

Does shortening the window cancel bookings?

No. The window only controls which dates can be newly booked. Bookings you've already taken stand, wherever the edge moves to.

Fixed or rolling — which should I pick?

If you'd take a booking for any date twelve months out, pick rolling and it maintains itself. Pick fixed when the edge is a real business decision — you haven't set next season's prices yet, or you genuinely close.
