The setup board: from new account to live

What the 11-stage setup board is, which stages are required, where it lives, and why a finished card can reappear — the board checking your account honestly.

When you first sign in, your Dashboard opens with a setup board: eleven stages that take you from an empty account to taking real bookings. Each stage says why it sits where it does, about how long it takes, and whether it's done — read from your actual account, not from boxes you've ticked.

Eleven stages, in a deliberate order

The order is the point. Your property's basics come first because everything else is built on those answers. Your rooms and dates come next, because until they're done Accommador can't tell a guest what's free or take a booking. Card payments are connected before your own booking page goes live, so guests never reach the payment step and hit a dead end. And the guest assistant sits last, because it answers from everything you've set up above it.

Each stage carries a time estimate. Most take 10 to 30 minutes; listing your rooms is the big one at about an hour, and bringing old bookings across can take longer depending on your file.

Required and optional stages

Four stages are marked Required: your property's details, your rooms and dates, card payments, and your own booking page. The header at the top counts five required steps drawn from them:

  • Your property basics — currency, country, time zone and what you rent out.
  • At least one kind of room, with what it sleeps and what a night costs.
  • Your real rooms, each attached to the kind it belongs to.
  • The dates you're open for bookings.
  • A connected card payment service — Stripe or PayDollar.

The rest are optional, and optional means optional. Owners, for example, only applies if you manage rooms for other people — skipping it isn't an unfinished job, it just doesn't apply to you.

Most stages check themselves

The board reads your real configuration, so a stage shows complete because the thing is actually there — a connected payment service, a saved set of dates — not because you clicked done. Two stages can't be checked automatically and are badged No automatic check: bringing your old bookings across, and reporting. For those, confirming is yours — after an import, open the calendar and check your bookings show up.

Where the board lives

While setup is incomplete, the board sits at the top of your Dashboard. Once every required step is done it collapses to a green Setup complete pill, and after that the Dashboard leaves it out entirely. From then on the full board lives at Settings → Setup, where you can revisit it any time — opening that page checks everything again from scratch, and there's a Re-check button when you want to be sure.

A card came back — is something broken?

No — that's the board being honest. Because the Setup page re-checks your real configuration, a stage can move back to incomplete if something was undone: disconnect Xero and the accounting stage will say so. A reappearing card is the board telling you the truth about today, not a fault.

Where each stage leads

Start with your property's details and your rooms and dates, then bring your existing bookings across. From there: connect a payment service, switch on your booking page, set up online check-in, your team's daily jobs, Xero, owners and the guest assistant. Reporting needs no setup at all — your numbers build themselves from your bookings.
