Switch on your booking page

Take your booking page live: the setup steps, the hidden-prices pitfall that catches almost everyone, and how a guest's booking holds the room while they pay.

Going live with your booking page takes about twenty minutes. This guide walks through the steps in order — and flags the one that catches almost everyone out.

Before you start

Connect Stripe or PayDollar first. If you switch the page on without a way to take payment, guests get all the way to the payment step and hit a dead end. See connect a payment gateway.

Going live, step by step

  1. Open Distribution → Booking Engine.
  2. On the General tab, choose how guests book: any arrival date and any length of stay, or a set choice of stay lengths (say 3, 4 or 7 nights) if that's how your property runs. Add a link to your terms, and set your deposit policy if you want one. Save — your page gets its own web address on the first save.
  3. On the Appearance tab, upload your logo and a hero photo, and set your colours and fonts. The live preview shows exactly what guests will see.
  4. On the Rooms & Rates tab, tick each price you want guests to see, then set the order your rooms appear in, add a short description and a photo for each. Save.
  5. On the Preview tab, copy your page's address, open it, and run a test search.

The step almost everyone misses

Your prices start out hidden. Until you tick each one visible on the Rooms & Rates tab, your page opens empty — no rooms, no prices, nothing to book. It's the single most common reason a brand-new booking page looks broken. Tick every price you're happy to sell publicly, save, and reload the page.

How a booking confirms

When a guest starts checking out, Accommador holds their room — 15 minutes by default, and you can change that on the General tab. While the hold is on, nobody else can book those dates. The moment their payment goes through, the hold becomes a confirmed booking on your calendar with the payment recorded. If they wander off without paying, the hold expires on its own and the room goes straight back on sale — abandoned checkouts never block your calendar.

Troubleshooting

My page opens but shows no rooms

Almost always the hidden-prices pitfall above — go to Rooms & Rates and tick your prices visible. If they're already ticked, check you've actually set prices for the dates being searched; see set rates and restrictions.

A guest says they couldn't pay

Check a payment gateway is connected and working — see connect a payment gateway. Without one, the page can show rooms but can't take money.

A guest's dates come back with no rooms

If the dates are genuinely taken, the page offers the nearest dates that work instead — that's closest-date search doing its job, not a fault.
