Featured stay periods
Turn school holidays, long weekends and Christmas week into one-tap buttons on your booking page. Past periods drop off automatically.
Some stays get booked by name, not by date. Guests don't think "26 December to 2 January" — they think "Christmas week". Featured stay periods put those named windows on your booking page as one-tap buttons: the Easter long weekend, the October school holidays, New Year's week. A guest taps one and the page searches exactly those dates, no date-picking required.
What guests see
Your upcoming periods appear as buttons under the date pickers, each showing its name and dates. The page shows the first two, with the rest a tap away behind "View more", and carries up to the twelve soonest. Tapping a button runs a normal search for that exact window, so the guest lands straight on rooms and prices for the dates you named.
A shortcut, not a special
A stay period sets the dates and nothing else. It doesn't discount, doesn't override your minimum stays, and doesn't conjure availability — the search behaves exactly as if the guest had picked those dates by hand. If the period is sold out, the guest sees the usual nearest-alternative suggestions from closest-date search. If you want a named window to also carry a discount, pair the period with a special covering the same dates.
Managing your periods
- Open Distribution → Booking Engine and go to the Periods tab.
- Add a period: a name (that's the button label guests see), a check-in date and a check-out date.
- Save. The period appears in your list and, if it's upcoming and active, on your booking page.
Periods are real dates, not repeating rules — "Christmas Week 2026" and "Christmas Week 2027" are two separate entries. That's deliberate: it lets you shift a period in a year when the school calendar or a public holiday moves, without a rule quietly getting it wrong.
Every period in your list carries a badge, so a button that's missing from your page always has a visible reason:
- Live — showing on your booking page now.
- Inactive — you've switched it off; it stays in your list and you can reactivate it any time.
- Past — its check-in date has been and gone.
- Invalid dates — the dates don't make a bookable stay, so it isn't shown to guests.
You can also delete a period outright when you're done with it.
Past periods tidy themselves
Once a period's check-in date has passed, it drops off your booking page automatically — nobody can arrive into a window that's already started, so the button would only ever lead to an empty search. It stays in your list badged Past, which is handy as a reference when you're setting up next year's version. Adding last year's dates on purpose is fine too: the tab accepts them and simply badges them Past.
