Accommador vs RMS Cloud: Cheaper Software, $6,453 Before Your First Booking

RMS Cloud is deep, Australian-built software that’s genuinely cheaper than us on the licence line — about $129/mo at 30 rooms. But their own published rate card adds a one-time A$6,453 setup fee before your first guest arrives, and the entire growth side — email marketing, ad tracking, reviews — is either a paid add-on or missing outright.

The core difference

What each platform is actually for

RMS has been building Australian hospitality software for decades and it shows: tills, housekeeping, maintenance, park operations. If your site is complicated, the depth is there.

But depth costs you when you don’t need it. Run a 12-room lodge or a houseboat fleet and you’re learning software built for something far bigger — while the thing you actually need, more direct bookings, isn’t what a big operations platform is for.

Accommador flips it. The day-to-day is deliberately simple, and filling the rooms is the headline.

Why operators pick us

The case against RMS Cloud, in plain terms

RMS is the serious Australian incumbent, and on the licence line it is genuinely cheaper than us. We’ll say that plainly. Here is what the sticker doesn’t show.

  1. Cheaper software, then $6,453 before you take a booking.

Their own published rate card lists a one-off setup fee of US$4,500 — about A$6,453 — invoiced when you sign, not when you go live. And billing starts at go-live or 45 days after you sign, whichever comes first. We charge nothing to get started, on any plan.

  2. Leaving takes months, not a phone call.

Under their terms you give notice, they send you a form, and missing the 14-day window to sign it simply voids your notice. Then it’s 90 more days from month-end, and nothing prepaid comes back. Ours is cancel any time.

  3. Your price isn’t yours to keep.

Their terms let them revise fees "at any time", and using the software after they’ve told you counts as accepting the new price — no cap, no CPI collar. Our first ten operators hold theirs for life.

  4. Email marketing is something you buy on top.

RMS has good guest comms — triggered emails, surveys, a guest portal. But sending a marketing email to your past guests is an optional add-on on every one of RMS’s four plans, hotels included. It’s built into ours.

  5. There’s no way to see which ads book a room.

We looked across the whole RMS site — every mention of ads, remarketing, Google or Meta — and found nothing. If you run any ads at all, you’re flying blind on RMS.

  6. Training runs out.

RMS sells training in prepaid blocks and, in their own words, unused hours "lapse automatically without refund, credit, or carry-over" after twelve months. Getting properly trained a year later means paying again. Ours doesn’t have an expiry date.

The one test to run before any demo

Search dates that break your minimum-stay rule

Most booking pages answer "no availability" and the guest is gone. Accommador shows the three nearest open nights with prices, so the near miss becomes a booking.

RMS quotes you after a demo, but their own vendor comparison guide publishes the numbers: US$3 per site each month and a US$4,500 one-time setup fee.

(That same card also lists US$1 per online reservation, while RMS’s live site says "no booking fees" — the two RMS documents disagree, so we leave that fee out of every figure on this page.) On the licence line alone RMS is cheaper than us, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What it doesn’t include is roughly $6,453 due before your first booking, email marketing as a paid add-on, and no ad tracking at any price.

Converted from RMS’s own published rate card — US$3.00 per site each month — at 30 rooms, at AUD/USD 0.6973 spot, 24 Jul 2026. On top of this, the same rate card lists a one-time US$4,500 (≈A$6,453) implementation fee, invoiced when you sign, not when you go live. That card also lists US$1 per online reservation while RMS’s live site says "no booking fees"; the two RMS documents disagree, so we’ve left that fee out either way.

FAQ

Questions operators ask

On the licence line alone, yes — their own rate card works out to roughly $129/mo for a 30-room property against our $500. But that’s before their A$6,453 setup fee, before email marketing (an add-on on every plan), and before any ad tracking, which RMS doesn’t offer at any price.

Yes — their own published rate card lists a one-time US$4,500 implementation fee, invoiced when you sign. That’s roughly A$6,453. We charge nothing to set up, on any plan.

Only if you buy the email add-on — it’s optional on all four of their plans, hotels included. Email marketing is built into Accommador from day one.

Genuinely, yes — it’s one of the best-reviewed platforms for parks and campgrounds in the country. We don’t build for parks at all, so if that’s you, RMS is the better choice.

Under their terms, you give notice, they issue a termination form, and missing the 14-day window to return it voids your notice. After that it’s 90 more days, with nothing prepaid refunded. You can leave us any time.
