Minimum stays, closed dates and changeover days

Stay rules decide not just what a night costs but which stays you're willing to sell: how long guests must stay, which days they can arrive or leave, and which dates aren't for sale at all. They're set per room type, per plan and per date in the rates grid, and every connected site enforces them.

The vocabulary

• Minimum stay — the fewest nights a booking may have. With a two-night minimum in place, a one-night request simply isn't offered. Depending on your property's settings, the minimum is counted from the arrival date or applies across every night the stay touches. A maximum stay works the same way in reverse.
• Closed to arrival — no stay may start on this date. Guests can still be staying through it, and can still depart on it.
• Closed to departure — no stay may end on this date. Guests can still arrive and stay through.
• Stop-sell — the date isn't sold at all: no new booking can touch it on any site. Existing bookings are untouched.

What guests see

Rules aren't error messages — the sites simply don't offer stays that break them. A guest searching one night against your two-night minimum sees no availability for that search; a guest whose stay would end on a closed-to-departure day is offered other dates instead. The rules stay invisible, and your calendar keeps the shape you want.

Typical uses

Changeover days

Houseboats, cabins and holiday houses often run fixed changeovers — arrivals only on, say, Fridays and Mondays. Mark every other day as closed to arrival (and closed to departure too, if stays must also end on changeover days) and every site will only offer stays that fit your turnaround.

Packed weekends

A two-night minimum on Fridays and Saturdays stops a single Saturday night breaking up a weekend you could have sold whole. Set it for the season with a bulk update — date range, Fridays and Saturdays, done.

Dates you don't want to sell

A stop-sell closes a date across every site at once — useful around a private event, or while a room type is out of action. Because it's a per-date rule, lifting it again is one edit too.
