Rate plans that follow your room prices

Most properties sell the same room several ways — a flexible rate, a non-refundable rate a little cheaper, perhaps a rate just for one booking site. Rate plans that follow a base price let you run all of them from one number: change the base and everything linked to it moves with it.

Rate plans, briefly

A rate plan is a way a room type is sold: its price and its conditions. Every room type has at least one, and each booking site sells one or more of them. Prices and stay rules are set per plan, per date, in the rates grid.

Linked plans follow the base

A rate plan can be derived from another: instead of carrying its own price, it works its price out from its parent by rules you choose — a percentage up or down, a fixed amount, or both in sequence. A base of $100 with a linked plan set to "add 5%, then add $12" sells at $117, automatically, on every date.

That means you price once. Set the base plan's price for a date and every derived plan — the non-refundable rate, the site-specific rate — recalculates itself and flows out to the sites with no further work. A derived plan can follow more than the price: minimum stays and other rules can be inherited from the parent too, so a change to the base plan's conditions carries through the same way.

In the grid

Cells a plan inherits are shown locked, displaying the worked-out value, so you can always see what a derived plan is actually selling at. To change them, edit the parent plan — the derived cells update themselves. Anything a plan doesn't inherit is set on the plan directly, like any other cell.

What taking ownership of rates means

Rate management in Accommador is switched on per property, once, permanently. New properties have it from day one. A longer-standing property may instead see a one-off Take ownership of rates & restrictions step on the rates screen: it brings your current prices and rules into Accommador exactly as they stand — nothing is sent to your sites during the import — and from then on the grid here is the single place they're edited. After that, a price edited anywhere else is overwritten by what Accommador holds within a day, so the grid always tells the truth.

FAQ

Can a linked plan have its own price on just some dates?

No — a plan either follows its parent's price or carries its own; it's one or the other, not per date. If you need a plan to move independently, it needs to hold its own price.

Where do I create or restructure rate plans?

On the rooms screen under Distribution → Channel Manager, where room types and their plans are defined. The rates grid picks up structure changes within a few minutes.
