Choose which gateway does which job

If you run one gateway, there's nothing to decide — every charge and every bond hold goes through it automatically. Connect a second and Accommador lets you split the work: one gateway for ordinary charges, one for security bonds, or both jobs on the same one.

One connection per gateway

A property holds at most one Stripe connection and one PayDollar connection. Each keeps its own credentials and its own on/off switch, and saving one never disturbs the other.

Two jobs to assign

There are two kinds of card work in Accommador:

• Charges — deposits, balance payments and payment links: money that actually moves.
• Bond holds — security bonds reserved on the guest's card but not taken.

With both gateways enabled, you choose which gateway handles each job in the gateway setup under Accounting → Payments. You can point both jobs at the same gateway if you prefer — the choice just has to be made, so money never routes somewhere you didn't intend. The booking page labels which gateway a charge or a hold will use before you create it.

A payment always refunds through the gateway that took it

Whatever your preferences say today, everything that happens later to an existing payment — a refund, a bond capture, a release — goes back through the gateway that originally took it. A Stripe deposit refunds through Stripe even if PayDollar now handles your charges. Money never reroutes to a different merchant account. See refund a payment.

Disconnecting a gateway

If you disable a gateway that currently holds a job, that job is unassigned rather than silently handed to the other gateway. You'll be asked to choose again before the next charge or hold can be created.

Troubleshooting

Why can't I create a payment link?

The usual cause is two gateways enabled with no choice made for charges. Open the gateway setup and pick which one takes charges — links work immediately after.

Do I need a second gateway?

No. Most properties run one, and everything routes there with nothing to configure. A second is worth it when you want, say, bonds held on one merchant account and turnover on another. Start with connecting a gateway.
