Is the room ready to sell tonight?
A coloured dot on each calendar room row shows clean, dirty, cleaning or out of order. Finished cleans flip it automatically — and you can set it by hand when reality differs.
Tonight's arrival needs a ready room, and you shouldn't have to walk over and look. Each room row on the Bookings calendar carries a small coloured dot — the room's housekeeping state — so "can I sell it tonight?" is answered at a glance.
The dot and its colours
- Green — Clean. Ready to sell.
- Red — Dirty. Needs a clean before anyone checks in.
- Amber — Cleaning. Someone's in there now.
- Grey — Out of Order. Off sale — a repair, a deep clean, a problem.
Hover over the dot to see the state and when the room was last cleaned.
It updates itself
Jobs that are set up to affect the room drive the dot. When a clean is started, the room shows Cleaning; when it's completed, the room flips to Clean and the last-cleaned date is stamped. That date matters beyond the dot: the pre-arrival Prep Clean uses it to decide whether a room has gone stale. So when your cleaner ticks the job off on their phone, the calendar tells you the room is ready — no text message required. See the staff portal.
Out of order takes the room off sale
A job set up to take the room out of service — typically maintenance — blocks the room's availability the moment it's started: it can't be booked on your own booking page or on the booking sites you sell through. When the job is completed or cancelled, the room is released again. See how availability works.
Setting it by hand
Reality sometimes differs from the record — a room left in a state no clean was raised for, or one you cleaned yourself with no job to tick. Click the dot and set the state directly:
- Any state can be set at any time.
- Setting Clean also stamps the last-cleaned date — an explicit "this room is clean" resets the staleness clock, so a Prep Clean won't generate needlessly.
- Out of Order asks for the date the room is expected back. The room is blocked from sale until then; if something else already has it blocked, the existing block is kept rather than doubled up.
Troubleshooting
I set the room to Clean but it still can't be booked
A job that took the room out of service still owns the block. The dot describes cleanliness; the job's block describes availability, and it's only released when that job is completed or cancelled. Finish or cancel the job and the room comes back on sale — or adjust the block on the calendar directly.
The repair finished early
Complete the job. The block it created is released straight away — there's no need to wait for the "expected back" date.
