Door codes that appear only when they should
Door codes, directions and meeting points revealed to guests automatically — but only near arrival, and only once the steps and payments you require are done.
The last thing a guest needs is the way in — and it's the one thing you don't want circulating early. An access step delivers door codes, lockbox details, Wi-Fi, directions or a meeting point automatically, at the right moment, and only once your conditions are met.
What you can deliver
Store access details per property and per unit on Guests → Guest Journey: door or lockbox codes, Wi-Fi, directions, a meeting point, notes. Each unit carries its own details, so the right guest always gets the right ones. They're stored encrypted, and they're never written into the flow itself — the details exist in exactly one place and are revealed to a guest only at the moment the conditions pass.
The three conditions
- Time — a reveal time you choose, in your property's local time: say 1pm on arrival day, or the day before. Daylight saving is handled correctly.
- Progress — the steps you require finished first: signed terms, confirmed details, whatever you name.
- Money — the balance paid, the bond held, or both — see take the balance and bond during check-in.
Every condition you set must hold at the moment the guest looks. If a late add-on leaves a small balance owing, the details simply close until it's cleared, then reveal again.
What guests see before then
A locked card saying their arrival details will appear here, why they haven't yet, and when the step opens. Never the details themselves — the code isn't hidden somewhere on the page, it simply isn't sent to their phone until the conditions pass, and the check happens fresh every single time.
Check-in can still finish early
The access step never holds up completion. A guest can finish their check-in days before arrival — signed, paid, bond held — while the door code stays time-locked until arrival day. You get both: check-in done early, access delivered on time.
Troubleshooting
My guest says they can't see the code
The guest's locked card tells them exactly why it's closed and when it opens. On your side, open the booking and check their journey: has the reveal time arrived, are the required steps finished, and is anything still owing? Clear whichever is outstanding and the details appear on their next look.
Can I hand over a code manually if I need to?
The details you stored are always yours to pass on directly — the access step controls what the guest's check-in page reveals, not what you're allowed to tell them.
