Newbook alternatives in Australia: six compared (2026)
If you run motels, cabins or a mixed property without powered sites, our pick is Accommador at a published $500/mo. If you run a holiday park with powered sites, look at RMS Cloud first, because we don’t do powered sites. We make Accommador, and every entry below has its limits written next to it.
Newbook is built for parks. By its own count, 94% of its customers are RV parks, campgrounds and glamping resorts, and the software reflects that. If your place is outside that mould, the questions usually start with price.
Newbook publishes a price for one package only: Newbook Essentials, at $3.50 a booking (the page doesn’t say which currency), which it markets to small RV parks and campgrounds. Its Signature package has no published price, and its published terms, last updated in March 2022, ask customers not to share what they pay with other businesses or competitors. It also publishes Visa and Mastercard rates of 1.65% plus 30 cents (Amex is 2.25% plus 30 cents), and its terms set a twelve-month term that renews unless you opt out at least 30 days before.
Its support page advertises a free customer success team available 24/7, while those same terms say plans default to do-it-yourself support unless you buy a support licence. Ask which applies to your contract. The six below are compared mostly on what you can check before a sales call.
We make Accommador, so we are not a neutral judge. That is why every platform here, ours included, comes with the limits written next to it.
The ranking weighs four things: whether the platform handles your stay rules, whether marketing is included or bolted on, whether you can see the price, and what the whole set of tools costs once you have assembled it.
We chose the criteria on this page, and they are the things Accommador is built around. Below our own entry, the order is our judgement of how well each platform meets those same criteria for an independent Australian operator. It is not a score.
Most vendor facts here come from that vendor’s own public pages. Some come from a vendor’s pricing data, a vendor’s overseas price guide or a third-party report, and the text says so wherever it uses one. Those sources, the dates we checked them and the working behind every fee figure are on our comparison methodology page. Confirm current pricing with each vendor before you decide.
What each one charges, and what it includes
| Platform | Published price | Per-booking fee | Setup fee | Booking sites synced (channel manager) | Xero | Australian presence and support |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AccommadorOurs | $500/mo or $5,000/yr, published | None. We take no cut of a booking; the usual card-processing fees apply | None. Onboarding is free on every plan | Included: 100+ booking sites | Included: the books code themselves | Yes. An Australian, founder-run business |
| RMS Cloud | Not on their Australian site, where every plan is quote on request. Their 2025 North American campground guide (downloaded July 2026; we couldn’t find it on their site on 28 October 2026) estimated US$3 per site a month | Unclear. That guide lists US$1 per online booking; their own comparison page says no booking fees | Not on their Australian site, whose pages for operators switching systems advertise free onboarding. The same North American guide estimated a US$4,500 one-off fee; ask in writing what applies to you | Yes, in the base plan | Through RMS’s own Financial Interfaces module, which sends account-code totals to Xero, not individual transactions | Yes. Melbourne head office |
| Cloudbeds | No. A quote after a demo | None on bookings. Card payments carry a markup (their example: interchange plus 1.2%), or a blended rate, varying by location | Not published on their site. Ask for it in writing with your quote | Yes on their One plan and above (not Flex): 450+ channels | A third-party app (The Percentage) that posts daily revenue totals into Xero | No Australian office among the five on their contact page (October 2026), which lists Australia among 40+ countries where they have a local presence. 24/7 email support; phone support comes with their Premium Support option |
| Little Hotelier | Yes. From $49/mo on Basics; Pro from $179/mo, rising with rooms. In July 2026 their pricing data put Pro at $345/mo at 30 rooms | 1% of online and offline bookings (net of cancellations) on the $49 plan, none on Pro. Channel commission per stay, rate not published | None if you set yourself up. Plans with an onboarding specialist, such as Pro, may carry a setup fee. Amount not published | Yes, included | An export you upload into Xero, per their help centre (July 2026). We couldn’t find a live sync | Part of SiteMinder (Sydney head office). 24/7 chat and email on every plan; phone support on Pro and Revenue Optimiser only |
| Mews | No. Priced per room once you give your details | No booking fee in their published material. Card payments: their example is 1.1% on top of interchange and scheme fees | Not published | Yes, powered by SiteMinder (announced May 2026, launched August 2026). Booking.com, Expedia and Airbnb as standard; 400+ channels on Mews Pro | Through a marketplace app | No Australian office: their contact page lists Australia as a remote location. Round-the-clock support, with 24/7 phone lines for critical issues |
| Lodgify | Yes, priced by number of properties, in US dollars, euros or pounds (no AUD). On 28 October 2026 Professional was US$58/mo for one property and US$484/mo for 30 on monthly billing | No booking fee on any plan. A 1% fee applies to guest payments taken online through a gateway such as Stripe or PayPal, on top of the gateway’s own fee | None. Free onboarding is included | Partly. Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com directly; other sites by iCal only | No direct Xero connection in their published material; their help centre points to Zapier to send invoices to Xero | No Australian office we could find. An Australian phone number; support is 24/7, sales lines Monday to Friday, 10am to 7pm GMT |
Every cell was rechecked against the vendor’s public pages on 28 October 2026, after a first check on 26 July 2026. Where a cell still relies on an older source, such as a vendor’s July 2026 pricing data or its overseas price guide, the cell names it and its date. Where a vendor doesn’t publish a figure, we say so. US-dollar figures are shown as the vendor or its guide states them, without conversion. We make Accommador, so we are not a neutral judge. Confirm current pricing with each vendor. How we checked these.
6 Newbook alternatives, ours included, ranked for motels, cabins and other non-park properties
Running a park with powered sites? Start with RMS Cloud at number 2.
1 Accommador
Front desk, booking page, 100+ booking sites, marketing, payments and Xero in one plan, at a price you can read before any call. The usual card-processing fees apply, and guest messages are billed per item at rates we publish.
Strengths
- A published price, and nothing stopping you from telling anyone what you pay
- Everything in one plan: front desk, your own booking page, 100+ booking sites, marketing, payments and Xero
- Break a stay rule and the search comes back with your three nearest open dates, priced, instead of "no availability"
- See which ad earned the booking, long after browsers stop tracking
- Security bonds reserved on the guest’s card through Stripe or PayDollar
Where we’re not the answer
We don’t do powered sites for holiday parks, statutory trust accounting, kiosks or POS. If your park depends on those, we are not the fit, and RMS Cloud is the alternative to look at.
2 RMS Cloud
The other long-standing Australian platform for parks, with booking-site sync and a booking page in the base plan.
Full comparison: Accommador vs RMS Cloud →Strengths
- Handles powered-site metering and park requirements
- Channel manager and booking page bundled in the base plan
- Melbourne head office
The limitation
Quote-only in Australia. RMS’s pages for operators switching from other Australian systems advertise free onboarding and no booking fees, while its 2025 North American price guide for campgrounds estimated a US$4,500 implementation fee and US$1 per online booking. Ask in writing what applies to you. Email marketing (EDM) is an optional add-on on every plan, and RMS Pay is optional.
3 Cloudbeds
An all-in-one platform with its own channel manager and no added commission on bookings through it.
Full comparison: Accommador vs Cloudbeds →Strengths
- Front desk, booking page and a 450+ channel manager available in one system
- No added commission on bookings, as their own FAQ says
The limitation
No published price, no powered-site tooling that we could find, and card payments carry a markup (their example is interchange plus 1.2%). Guest marketing is a paid add-on, Xero comes through a third-party app that posts a daily journal, and none of the five offices on their contact page is in Australia (October 2026), though it lists Australia among 40+ countries where it has a local presence.
4 Little Hotelier
SiteMinder’s small-property package, with a published price.
Full comparison: Accommador vs Little Hotelier →Strengths
- A published price: from $49 a month on Basics and from $179 on Pro, rising with room count
- Booking page and booking-site sync included
The limitation
Not built around powered sites. The $49 plan takes 1% of online and offline bookings (net of cancellations), Pro may carry a setup fee it doesn’t price, and their help centre described Xero as a CSV export you import by hand when we checked in July 2026.
5 Mews
A modern, API-first platform for city hotels and groups.
Full comparison: Accommador vs Mews →Strengths
- An open API and a large app marketplace
- Booking engine and a 400-channel manager on Mews Pro
The limitation
Not built for parks, and priced per room, with a quote after you fill in a pricing form. We couldn’t find campaigns in Mews’ own plans (October 2026); its marketplace lists apps for campaigns and a live Xero sync. Their payments-fee page, now listed among Mews’ legacy documents for contracts signed before 1 October 2026, uses 1.1% on top of interchange and scheme fees as its example, and their contact page lists Australia as a remote location (October 2026).
6 Lodgify
Published-price software for small holiday-rental hosts, with no booking fee.
Full comparison: Accommador vs Lodgify →Strengths
- Plan prices are published, with a 0% booking fee
- Direct sync with Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com
The limitation
Not built for parks or powered sites. It prices by the number of properties, in US dollars, euros or pounds rather than Australian dollars, and syncs three sites directly (Airbnb, Vrbo and Booking.com), with others by iCal. It charges 1% on guest payments taken online through a payment gateway. Lodgify has no native Xero connection that we could find; its help centre points you to Zapier to send invoices to Xero.
Accommador vs Newbook: the full comparison
Newbook’s Signature plan is priced on request, and their published terms ask customers not to tell other businesses what they pay. Our plan is $500/mo in writing; the usual card fees and per-item guest messages are on top.

What is the best Newbook alternative in Australia?
It depends on whether you run powered sites. For a park with powered sites, RMS Cloud is the closest like-for-like. For motels, cabins, B&Bs, villas and small hotels, our pick is Accommador at a published $500/mo or $5,000/yr. We make it, so check the limits we list against your own place.
How much does Newbook cost?
Newbook publishes one price: $3.50 a booking on Newbook Essentials, its small RV-park package, with no currency stated. Its other plans have no published price, and its terms ask customers not to disclose what they pay to other businesses or competitors. What it does publish: a payment gateway fee of $22.95 a month per Newbook instance, card rates of 1.65% plus 30 cents for Visa and Mastercard, terminal hire at $29.99 per terminal, and a twelve-month term that renews unless you opt out. Ask Newbook for a written quote for your property.
Does Newbook work with Xero?
Yes. Newbook publishes a Xero integration that sends payments, refunds and GL codes to Xero each night. Its terms also say it won’t provide support for balancing or reconciling third-party accounting systems, so the reconciling stays with you or your bookkeeper. Accommador’s books code themselves in Xero. Cloudbeds’ Xero link is a third-party app that posts a daily journal, RMS Cloud sends account-code totals through its own Financial Interfaces module, and Little Hotelier’s help centre described a CSV export when we checked in July 2026.
