Cancel a booking
Cancel in one flow: choose what happens to money you hold — refund it, keep it as a cancellation charge, or turn it into a voucher — and the nights free up everywhere.
Cancelling a booking in Accommador handles both halves of the job at once: the room goes back on sale everywhere, and the money you are holding is dealt with properly — refunded, kept as a recognised cancellation charge, or turned into a voucher for a future stay. No loose ends in the calendar, none in the books.
Cancelling
- Open the booking and click Cancel. It is available on bookings the guest has not yet checked in to.
- Read the dialog. If you hold money on the booking, it tells you — down to the exact amount — what will happen to it.
- Add a reason if you want one on the record, and confirm.
The nights free up immediately, on your booking page and on every connected booking site. The booking keeps its reference and its full history, so the record of what happened — and why — survives.
Choosing what happens to the money
The rule is simple: whatever you still hold when you confirm is what gets kept, so you shape the outcome with refunds first.
- Refund everything — refund from the booking's payments area first, then cancel. A fully refunded booking cancels with no charge at all.
- Keep some or all of it — refund only the part you are returning. What remains is recorded as a cancellation charge, and with Xero connected an invoice is raised and settled by the money you hold, so it lands as proper revenue. The dialog names the exact amount before you commit. See cancellation charges.
- Turn it into a voucher — while money is held, the dialog also offers converting it into a voucher the guest can spend on a future stay. Often the best outcome for both sides: you keep the revenue, they keep the value. See turning a cancelled booking into a voucher.
Already checked in?
Once a guest has arrived, the stay has begun — so the right action for an early departure is an early check-out, which settles the money properly, not a cancellation.
Cancellations from booking sites
When a guest cancels on Booking.com, Airbnb or another connected site, you do nothing: the booking is cancelled in Accommador automatically and the nights are released for resale. A guest who has already checked in is never auto-cancelled — a contradiction like that is left for you to look at.
One thing to check on such bookings: if you were holding money, open the booking — it will prompt you to raise the cancellation charge, one click, so the kept money is properly recorded there too.
Troubleshooting
Can I un-cancel?
No — the nights went back on sale the moment you cancelled, and may have been resold. If the guest is coming after all, take a fresh booking; the calendar will show whether the nights are still free.
