Check a guest in
Mark the guest as arrived in two clicks. The arrival is recorded with a time, the calendar updates, and check-out becomes available.
The guest is at the desk with their bags. Marking them arrived takes two clicks, and it keeps your records honest — who is actually in the building right now, not just who was meant to be.
Checking a guest in
- Open the booking — clicking it on the calendar is the quickest way.
- Click Check In. It appears on confirmed bookings.
- Confirm. The booking's status flips to checked in.
The arrival is recorded with the exact time and who did it (see the History tab), the booking's colour changes on the calendar so the whole team can see the guest is in, and the Check Out action becomes available for the end of the stay.
What check-in doesn't do
Check-in moves no money and raises no invoice — it is purely the record that the guest has arrived. The stay's money is finalised at check-out. If your policy is to collect the balance or a bond on arrival, take it from the booking's payments area — before, during, or after clicking Check In; the order doesn't matter.
Online check-in and the front desk
If you use the guest journey, most of the arrival paperwork happens before the guest ever reaches you: on their own phone they confirm who is coming, sign your terms, pay what is owed and leave a bond. The booking's page shows how far they have got.
The two work together: online check-in handles the paperwork; the Check In action here is still the record that the guest has physically arrived. On a busy changeover day, a guest who completed everything online is a ten-second check-in at the desk instead of a queue.
Troubleshooting
There's no Check In button
Check-in is offered on confirmed bookings. A booking still on hold needs to be confirmed first, and a cancelled booking cannot be checked in at all. Check the status badge at the top of the page.
I checked in the wrong booking
Easily fixed — use Undo check-in to put the booking back to confirmed. It asks for a reason and records the reversal in the history. See undoing a status change.
